Blizzard sent out a press release to remind everyone that BlizzCon starts this week, but let's be honest here... what Blizzard fan could forget something that promises to be the biggest BlizzCon yet?
The host of last year's BlizzCon -- Jay Mohr -- is back again this year to provide comedic satire for the live events and contests, and there's a special treat for the closing ceremony. Comedian Patton Oswalt will kick off the ceremony, followed by Blizzard's metal band -- which leveled up at the Worldwide Invitational this summer -- Level 80 Tauren Elite Chieftain, and to close out BlizzCon fans will be treated to a live show by Video Games Live.
"With more hall space,
more attendees, and more attractions, this BlizzCon will be our biggest
yet," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.
"We're working hard with our partners to make this an unforgettable
experience, and we're looking forward to meeting players at the show."
The Schedule and Floor Plan pages are now available on the BlizzCon website as well. We noticed something particularly interesting about the Floor Plan, too. Notice that there are three hands-on areas, each color-coded. One is light blue (Wrath of the Lich King), one is blue (StarCraft II), and the other is... red! Does this mean Diablo III will be playable at BlizzCon? If so, it'll be the first time anywhere that someone outside of Blizzard employees will get their hands on it.
Stay tuned to the entire network later this week as we'll be providing coverage from the show floor. We may even have some live streams for you! Suffice to say we're extremely excited about this opportunity, and we hope to make it feel like you're right there with us if you can't attend.
Curse Network Coverage
The following sites will be providing coverage for BlizzCon:
Curse.com
World of Raids
Arena Junkies
If you're attending and see us, don't be afraid to pull us to the side and say hi! We'll be wearing Curse tshirts, so it shouldn't be too hard to spot us. We might even have some goodies to give away while there, so don't be shy!
